Clyde claimed a 2-1 victory over Cowdenbeath in the first round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup thanks to Marc McCusker`s double.
The hosts came closest to scoring in a goalless first half when David Hay had to react quickly to tip McCusker`s shot over the crossbar. Kevin Finlayson and Murray Henderson also threatened with headers.
McCusker put Clyde in front with a 12-yard volley after 58 minutes before making it 2-0 in the 67th minute with a long-range drive into the bottom corner.
Mark Ramsay headed home Dean Brett`s cross to reduce Cowdenbeath`s arrears with 12 minutes remaining and the visitors would have had an equaliser had John-Charles Hutchison not produced a fine save to thwart the same player soon afterwards.
