Riley brace helps Dees progress
Nicholas Riley was the hero as his brace gave Dundee a comfortable 3-0 Co-operative Insurance Cup first-round win at home to Montrose.
Riley opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when he latched on to Craig McKeown's pass and ran on before burying a shot high into the net from just inside the area.
Dundee dominated from there on but had to wait until the 70th minute for their second goal.
Jamie Adams was tripped inside the penalty area and Leigh Griffiths calmly stroked the spot kick into the bottom corner.
Griffiths then turned provider nine minutes later as his cross was converted at the near post by Riley.
