Willem II Tilburg 4-5 Roda JC Kerkrade
Roda JC got the better of Willem II by the odd goal in nine in a stunning game this evening.
Remarkably the game was tight at 1-0 at the midway point, with Andreas Lasnik giving Willem the lead from the spot.
The second half was the polar opposite, though, as Pa-Modou Kah got Roda level, with Martin Skoubo then doing the same thing after a Bart Biemans strike.
Ruud Vorner gave Roda the lead for the first time and Davy de Fauw gave them some breathing space at 4-2, before Lasnik got his second.
Vorner then completed his brace, but the scoring was still not over as Maceo Rigters netted Willem`s fourth.
Rangelo Janga and Mads Junker traded early efforts, before Willem went ahead in the 29th minute through Lasnik`s penalty after Kah had brought down Juha Hakola.
Kah made amends by tapping in after a 49th-minute scramble, but Biemans but Willem back ahead (57) following a mazy run.
Skoubo levelef for Roda again just after the hour, breaking down the middle and converting, before Vormer bundled his side ahead (64) after a fine cross from Anouar Hadourin.
De Fauw stormed down the right wing and cut in to drive home a brilliant fourth for Roda, before Lasnik gave Willem hope with 10 minutes left with a stunning 35-yard free-kick.
But Vormer made the game safe with six minutes to go with the simplest of finishes, leaving Rigter`s injury-time rocket as nothing more than a dramatic consolation.
