Eto'o seals final spot
Samuel Eto'o struck in the second half as Inter Milan won at Fiorentina to reach the Coppa Italia final.
The Nerazzurri travelled to the Artemio Franchi stadium holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. Fiorentina missed opportunities to score before Eto'o put the visitors ahead in the 57th minute.
Inter will meet the winner of the other semi-final between Roma and Udinese. The result means Jose Mourinho's Inter remain alive in all competitions, with the Nerazzurri in the semi-finals of the Champions League and still in the hunt for the Serie A title.
Fiorentina went into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Inter on Saturday, a result which saw the Nerazzurri drop to second in Serie A.
Inter had the first chance early on but Mario Balotelli's curled free-kick went wide. The visitors then should have gone in front in the 12th minute. Eto'o got past two Fiorentina defenders before surging inside the area only to fire wide of the far post.
Midway through the first half, Balotelli stole the ball from Lorenzo De Silvestri and entered the area before firing wide. At the other end, Fiorentina were unlucky not to take the lead.
Lucio made a goal-line clearance after Alberto Gilardino's volley from the edge of the area went through the legs of Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
On the half-hour mark, Christian Chivu made a great tackle with Gilardino poised to shoot from outside the six-yard box and in the 36th minute, Riccardo Montolivo warmed the hands of Julio Cesar with a stinging drive from 35 yards.
Before the break, Stevan Jovetic got closer with his right-footed strike from distance going inches wide of the near post.
Inter showed more determination after the restart and almost went ahead soon after. Balotelli's powerful strike from distance forced Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey to fully stretch to clear.
Inter then went in front as Thiago Motta served Eto'o and he beat the offside trap before hitting a left-footed strike past Frey. The goal was a hammer blow for the hosts, who needed three goals to progress to the next round.
Inter defended deeply in the last 15 minutes of the game and Fiorentina were forced to try their luck with long-range strikes. Montolivo drove the ball wide from 30 yards.
Gilardino almost got a consolation goal with one minute remaining after he got behind Cristiano Zanetti's cross but hit the ball wide.
