Nigeria defeated a stubborn DR Congo side 5-2 under the watchful eye of new coach Lars Lagerback.
Nigeria gave themselves a two-goal cushion early in the first half through the lively Peter Utaka and Osas Idehen.
Obinna Nsofor smashed the third, before Tresor Mputu reduced the tally for the visitors on the 42nd minute and added a second after the break to give Congo hope.
Obinna and Idehen then netted to seal the win and Lagerback, who watched from the stands, told reporters he noticed some good players from the Super Eagles side that could make the Nigerian team for the World Cup.
"It was a good game. I saw some good players that could go to South Africa at the summer. My job has started. I will continue to shop around and see how a formidable team can emerge before the World Cup," he said.
