Willem II boosted their Eredivisie survival hopes with a victory over fellow strugglers Sparta Rotterdam today.
Frank Demouge opened the scoring in the fourth minute and Ayodele Adeleye's own goal just after the half-hour mark put Willem II two up at the break.
Stefan Nijland made the points safe with a penalty shortly after the break, with Rydell Poepon's late spot-kick for Sparta no more than a consolation.
Demouge put the hosts ahead with the first chance of the match, heading home from six yards from Nijland's corner.
Edouard Duplan was denied by home goalkeeper Maikel Aerts at the other end after getting his head to Joshua John's sharp cross from the left.
Christophe Gregoire's shot was then deflected wide by team-mate Danny Schenkel as the hosts threatened a second, and it arrived in the 32nd minute.
Nijland's right-footed cross from way out on the left deflected off Adeleye, deceiving everyone and nestling in the right corner.
And Nijland effectively killed the contest with Willem's third from the spot in the 57th minute.
Half-time substitute Sander van Gessel brought down Demouge in the area and Nijland placed his penalty into the left corner, sending goalkeeper Aleksander Seliga the wrong way.
Another Sparta replacement, Joey Godee, cut inside from the left and fired in an effort which was saved by Aerts before the visitors pulled one back with a penalty of their own four minutes from time.
Demouge brought down Erik Falkenburg and Poepen sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
