Two goals by Danijel Ljuboja were enough for Grenoble to beat Boulogne as they concluded their home programme at the end of a miserable season for both teams who will meet again next year in Ligue 2.
It was only Grenoble's fifth win of a miserable season in which their fate was effectively sealed thanks to a horrific start to the campaign and in which they won just once on their travels.
Boulogne have only won one more game than their hosts today and it was they who almost took the lead in the first minute, Mustapha Yatabar shooting from the edge of the area only for Ronan Le Crom to pull off a great save.
Grenoble hit back with Ljuboja firing in a left-footed shot with keeper Jean Francois Bdnik called to punch clear.
The goalkeeper was called upon to save again from Ljuboja who was at the hub of all Grenoble's attacking moves after he followed up a shot from David Sauget.
However, Ljuboja could only be repelled for so long and with 12 minutes remaining until half-time, Ljuboja sent a powerful free-kick into the top corner.
The second half continued in the same vein, Ljuboja crossing from the left towards Laurent Batlles whose volley went inches wide and Bdnik was then called on to make a reflex save from his own defender Yoann Lachor.
Grgory Thil tried his luck for Boulogne but Le Crom blocked but with nine minutes left the points were sealed for Grenoble.
Again it was Ljuboja who backheeled the ball home following Jean Calv's corner.
