FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Walter Martinez scored in the second minute, and Honduras routed Grenada 4-0 Saturday night for a berth in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals.
Honduras, which finished second in Group B to the United States, will play Group A winner Canada next Saturday in Philadelphia. The Americans will meet Jamaica or the third-place team in Group C.
Honduras (2-1) had an easy time with Grenada, which was outscored 10-0 in losing all three of its games.
Goals by Martinez and Roger Espinoza, both assisted by Allan Lalin, gave Honduras a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the 56th minute, Martinez sent a corner kick to the opposite side of the net. Melvin Valladares got his head on the ball and directed it downward on one bounce past goalkeeper Andray Baptiste.
The final goal came in the 67th minute on a penalty kick by Carlos Costly. Baptiste stopped the first shot with his upper body, but Costly easily converted the rebound.
Honduras reached the Gold Cup semifinals in 2005, losing to the United States, which went on to win the tournament. In the last Gold Cup in 2007, Honduras was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Guadeloupe, which advanced to this year's quarterfinals.
Grenada played in its first Gold Cup this year.
