Brazil sealed a place in the final of the women's Olympic tournament with a 4-1 win over Germany. The win was their first over the reigning world champions at senior level.
Even though Germany opened the scoring through Birgit Prinz, Silvia Neid's side had no answer to Brazil's creativity. Formiga struck a thunderbolt to score Brazil's equalizer, the first goal that Germany's Nadine Angerer had conceded at these Olympics.
Following that goal, the floodgates opened as Marta and Cristiane ran riot, combining on Brazil's next three goals.
Brazil now travels to Beijing to prepare for the final.
