Goals from Christian Bekamenga and Mamadou Bagayoko earned Nantes a home win over Nice who played for most of the second half with 10 men.
Bekamenga had given the hosts the lead after 18 minutes before Gerald Cid was dismissed for a second bookable offence 11 minutes into the second period.
Nantes failed to make their superior numbers tell until the 89th minute when Bagayoko scored their second goal.
Victory moved Nantes further clear of relegation trouble in Ligue 1 while it dealt a blow to Nice's outside chances of European qualification.
Nantes had a good chance in the first minute but Aurelien Capoue's powerful header sent the ball crashing off the post following a perfect cross from the right by Bagayoko.
Nantes were unlucky again after 12 minutes when David De Freitas crossed for William Vainqueur on the edge of the area.
Vainqueur's instant shot hit the underside of the bar where goalkeeper David Ospina was on hand to clear.
A minute later Frederic Da Rocha's header from a corner was again kept out by Ospina.
Nantes' pressure finally told when an unmarked Bekamenga volleyed in when he was set up by Remi Mareval.
Ospina again came to Nice's rescue when he saved after Mareval had set up Vainqueur.
Things got worse for the visitors after 56 minutes when Cid was dismissed for his second bookable offence.
Ospina continued his defiance as he kept out a free-kick from De Freitas before saving from a volley by Bagayoko who had been set up by Mareval's cross.
The second goal finally came with a minute of the game left as Bagayoko scored from close range following good work by Mareval.
