Bristol Rovers 5-1 Rushden & D'monds
Bristol Rovers cruised through to the FA Cup third round with a 5-1 win over Rushden despite an early mistake from goalkeeper Steve Phillips.
Phillips allowed an intended cross by Marcus Kelly to sail over his head from fully 50 yards to give the visitors an 11th-minute lead.
But Andy Williams fired a 32nd-minute equaliser and Craig Disley shot Rovers ahead a minute later. A second-half header from Craig Hinton and two strikes from Rickie Lambert then put the non-league side firmly to the sword.
Rushden were good value for their early lead before Williams notched the equaliser from a Lambert pass and minutes later Sammy Igoe set up Disley to dispatch a low finish.
The visitors battled gallantly but were sunk five minutes after the break when Hinton powered home a Lambert cross.
Three minutes later, Lambert swept home his side's fourth goal after good link-up play with Disley and the strapping frontman was on target again three minutes from time after latching onto Stuart Campbell's through ball.
