Two late goals sent ensured Wrexham stayed in the Football League with a 3-1 win that sent opponents Boston into the Conference.

The away side settled quicker and bombarded the Dragons in the first half, taking a deserved 39th minute lead when a high ball found Drewe Broughton and he played in Francis Green to slot home.

Immediately Simon Spender had a header cleared off the line at the other end, but nerves grew for the home side as they went into the break behind.

However the second half was a different story and on 55 minutes the Dragons equalised when Steve Evans saw his header saved but Danny Williams was pushed as he went for the rebound and Ryan Valentine made no mistake from the spot.

Mark Jones saw his excellent free kick touched onto the bar, while at the other end an almighty goalmouth scramble resulted in Paul Ellender firing over with 10 minutes left.

And with four minutes to go Jones played in Chris Llewellyn to slot home the second - and Llewellyn turned provider just a few minutes later when his cheeky cross was headed in by Michael Proctor.

The result saw Boston sent down to the Conference - and the club's board moved quickly to enter into a Company Voluntary Arrangement before the final whistle, meaning they were docked 10 points from their League Two tally, and will start life in the Conference with a clean slate.
