Hungary 1-2 Greece: Basinas penalty seals win
BUDAPEST, Nov 21 (Reuters) - An Angelos Basinas penalty
handed European champions Greece a 2-1 victory over Hungary in
their final Euro 2008 Group C qualifier on Wednesday.
Greece, already confirmed as group winners and through to
next year's finals, trailed to a seventh-minute strike from Akos
Buzsaky who scored his first international goal with a deflected
shot.
The visitors drew level against the run of play midway
through the opening half when defender Vilmos Vanczak headed
past his own keeper Marton Fulop.
Basinas hit the winner from the spot 11 minutes after the
break after Teofanis Gekas was brought down by Fulop.
Hungary wasted three good chances to level the game as they
finished a disappointing sixth in the seven-team group.
