KERKRADE, March 25 (Eredivisie) - Unless RBC Roosendaal's supporters are masochists this will be a season they want to erase from their memories.
This time the spanking was at the hands of Roda JC but it has been one of only many painful beatings for the bottom club this season with RBC having racked up only one win and nine points and conceded 20 more goals than the next worst defence in the top flight.
Simon Cziommer scored a hat-trick for Roda JC with Edrissa Sonkoh and substitute Humphrey Rudge the other scorers while Melvin Fleur netted the only goal for RBC who had Paul de Lange dismissed.
It only took nine minutes for Roda JC to score with Cziommer finding the top corner with his right foot from 14 yards.
Ten minutes later Cziommer's trusty right foot curled a free-kick over the wall and into the top corner.
Just before the half hour mark Cziommer's free-kick set up Sonko who headed home from eight yards.
RBC netted their goal early in the second half when Fleur headed in a De Lange free-kick but just five minutes later De Lange was given his marching orders when he received his second yellow card of the night.
Cziommer completed his treble after 74 minutes with another free-kick beating the wall and finding the left corner for a treble which - in spite of the opposition - had the hallmark of real quality.
Rudge rounded off the scoring after 86 minutes when he headed a cross against the bar but managed to react the quickest and turn in the rebound from three yards out.
RBC's relegation could become mathematically certain next week and after a season like this one they will be glad for a year's convalescence in the Gouden Gids Divisie.
