Northwich 2-1 Woking
Conference North side Northwich earned a dream FA Cup third round trip to Barclays Premiership outfit Sunderland by beating Woking 2-1 at the Victoria Stadium.
Former Newcastle trainee Paul Brayson sent the Vics into the third round with a second-half strike, his 11th in the competition this season, however at one stage his penalty miss in the 25th minute looked as though it might prove costly.
Stuart Elliott's superb 20-yard volley put Northwich in front after 13 minutes and Brayson wasted the chance to double that advantage when his spot-kick was saved by Shwan Jalal in the Woking goal.
Northwich's domination of the first half was almost absolute, but Steve Ferguson equalised deep into stoppage time with a precise conversion of Stephen Evans' cross to send the teams into the break on level terms.
It was to be Brayson's night, however, as the 28-year-old fired home from 20 yards on the hour mark to send Northwich through for a meeting with Mick McCarthy's struggling Black Cats on Sunday, January 8.
