Nuneaton 2-0 Ramsgate
Ramsgate's FA Cup adventure ended after Conference North outfit Nuneaton struck
twice inside the opening 45 minutes to secure a 2-0 victory.
It was the first time in their history the Ryman League side had reached the
first-round proper - but there was to be no fairytale.
Nuneaton's back four had not conceded a goal in their last five matches and
Ramsgate struggled badly to create any clear-cut openings early on.
The hosts opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Rob Oddy scored from the
edge of the box with a fine strike.
On the half hour mark, Oddy then turned provider for David Staff to head home
at the far post.
However, an immaculate Nuneaton performance was soured in the 78th minute when
Michael Frew received his marching orders after picking up a second yellow card
for kicking the ball away.
