ALBACETE, May 22 (Primera Liga) - Late strikes by Oscar De Paula and Luluaga Gari Uranga saw Real Sociedad come from two goals down to salvage a draw against relegated Albacete at the Carlos Belmonte stadium on Sunday.
A first half brace from Antonio Pacheco had given Albacete the advantage and they looked to be heading for only their second win in the last 15 matches.
However, De Paula halved the deficit eight minutes from time before Uranga snatched a point for the Basque side in the second minute of added time.
Albacete's Galvez Gaspar was sent off for a second bookable offence in the dying seconds.
The home side opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Pacheco's free-kick from a wide position eluded Asier Riesgo in the Sociedad goal who seemed to misjudge the bounce as the ball curled towards him.
Martin Monteagudo's men nearly doubled their lead five minutes later when Ivan Diaz tried his luck from range, but this time the shot was saved by Riesgo.
The visitors registered their first effort on target after 17 minutes, Jose Javier Barkero's left-footed drive looked to be heading for the far right corner but Ronald Gaspercic diverted the ball out for a corner.
Pacheco scored his and Albacete's second of the game just after the half hour mark, coolly lobbing the ball over the advancing goalkeeper from near the penalty spot to take his team into the interval two goals up.
Jose Mari Amorrortu's side emerged from the break a different team and quickly set about getting back into the game in a second half that they dominated.
Seven minutes after the restart substitute Mikel Alonso tested Gaspercic from the edge of the area but his shot was repelled by the Belgian international.
Sociedad laid siege to the Albacete goal with De Paula, Mikel Labaka and Jeremie Brechet all squandering opportunities to put their side back in the game before the match had reached the hour mark.
Labaka and Uranga both saw headed efforts saved by Gaspercic after Valeri Karpin had provided pin point centres.
Eight minutes from time and Sociedad finally got the goal that their pressure had threatened to deliver, De Paula heading home Labaka's cross to half the deficit and set up a frantic finale.
Brechet was denied by some last ditch defending with just two minutes remaining, his left foot drive from six yards out was bravely blocked before being scrambled clear.
However two minutes into added time Uranga picked the ball up in the penalty area and fired a low drive into the bottom right hand corner of the net to snatch a point.
Albacete could have actually stolen the game a minute later but Pacheco's looping header came back off the post with Riesgo clearly beaten.
Albacete travel to the Basque region to face Racing Santander in next week's last round of matches, while Sociedad entertain newly-crowned champions Barcelona at the Estadio Anoeta.
