THE HAGUE, March 26 (Eredivisie) - FC Zwolle's relegation worries increased on Friday night after they could only manage a draw at ADO Den Haag.
A point away from home is normally a satisfactory result but on this occasion Zwolle really had to win.
The visitors remain rooted to the foot of the table, eight points adrift of Friday's opponents who occupy the spot above the relegation play-offs.
Den Haag started well and had the first chance of the night after six minutes when Jan-Paul Saeijs played the ball through to Rik Platvoet but the striker shot wide when he ought to have done better.
With their first attack, and totally against the run of play, Zwolle took the lead after 15 minutes.
Albert van der Haar lofted a high ball into the area, Morten Karlsen headed it on to Jasar Takak who made no mistake from close range.
The hosts responded in the right way by dominating the rest of the period but they had to wait until the stroke of half time before equalising.
Romeo Castelen crossed for Cedric van der Gun who beat Zwolle defender Robert-Jan Ravensbergen to the ball and fired past keeper Johan van der Werff.
The second half was poor in comparison to the first with neither side able to make the decisive breakthrough.
Castelen had Den Haag's best chance while Takak should have scored but placed his shot straight at home keeper Dorus de Vries.
