West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster insists reaching 40 points as soon as possible is the club's main aim despite their impressive start to the season.
A brace from Peter Odemwingie saw the Baggies to a 2-0 victory over Southampton at the Hawthorns this evening, a win which lifted them up to fifth in the table.
"It's a bit of a cliche but we are really not getting carried away and we are taking each game as it comes, and we will see where we go'' Foster told Sky Sports 1.
"We will get to the 40-point mark as soon as possible we and see what games we have got left.''
A last gasp deflected strike denied Steve Clarke's side last week, but West Brom showed no sign of feeling sorry for themselves.
"Fantastic credit to bounce back after two difficult weeks,'' Foster continued. "We were unlucky against (Manchester) City and we conceded in the last minute last week, against Newcastle so it was great to bounce back and we thoroughly deserved the win.''
