Dundee sweating on trio

Dundee boss John Brown will decide his side to face Stenhousemuir in the quarter-finals of the Ramsdens Cup after handing late fitness tests on Steven Dorris, Jamie Reid and Nicky Riley.

Stephen O'Donnell remains out with a knee injury and will miss a tie which will not be straightforward according to Brown's assistant Ray Farningham.

The Dens Park number 2 said: "Stenhousemuir may be in the league below us however they have a real core of experienced players. They have good strikers in John Gemmell and Sean Higgins so we have to be more than ready.

"This is a competition that gets more exciting the longer you are in it and we want to go further."

Stenhousemuir will be without on-loan Dundee United defender Ross Smith as well as Eddie Malone through suspension.

The Warriors also continue to miss Bryan Hodge due to an ankle injury but manager Martyn Corrigan is asking his men to show style and substance to progress.

"We won against Forfar last week by playing great football in the first half and battling for everything in the second when they came back at us," Corrigan said.

"We will need to show both these qualities to do anything against a good Dundee side. We have been scoring goals all season and that bodes well for a big game like this."
