Stenhousemuir boss Martyn Corrigan includes new strikers Sean Higgins, Errol Douglas and Ross McNeil in his squad for the visit of Arbroath.
Corrigan's plans were, however, disrupted this week when new signing Sean Lynch picked up a hamstring injury and Bryan Hodge went over on his ankle in training.
Corrigan said: ``Our results during pre-season have not been great but we were not after results we were after increased fitness.
``We believe we have that and this game will tell us how close we are to being the side we want to be.''
Arbroath are without defensive duo Alex Keddie and Colin Hamilton due to suspension, but everyone else is available to player-manager Paul Sheerin.
The Gayfield side lost 7-1 to Inverness in midweek and Sheerin is looking for a vast improvement.
``That may have only been a friendly game but the way we stood off players was really disappointing,'' he said.
``We got punished severely and we will again if we repeat it in games that really matter. However, I am sure this game will tell us more about the season ahead than the Inverness one did.
``It is a real test but one I welcome.''
