Nurnberg v FC Augsburg: Preview

Nurnberg are preparing for their second derby in a week, confident they can come away with the points this time.

After losing to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena a week ago, Nurnberg now host Augsburg in, on paper at least, a far easier fixture at the Frankenstadion.

``This is a very important game for Nurnberg,'' said coach Michael Wiesinger. ``We desperately want to win it and keep Augsburg behind us.

``We are the home team and that is why we want to keep the points here.

``They are a side who are aggressive, run a lot and they are disciplined, but they also tend to leave a door open and leave you room and we want to use that.''

Central defender Per Nilsson should return for Nurnberg after injuring his ankle last weekend, but Timo Gebhart is out.

Augsburg arrive buoyed by their first win of the season last weekend against Stuttgart, a result which lifted them off the foot of the table and cost Stuttgart coach Bruno Labbadia his job.

``That win gives us self-confidence,'' said coach Markus Weinzierl. ``We now go to Nurnberg with the aim of getting something.''

Goalkeeper Alexander Manninger is back from injury and in the frame to play tomorrow, which would make him the third keeper to appear for Augsburg this season after Mo Amsif and Marwin Hitz.

``We're pretty relaxed when it comes to this position,'' said Weinzierl.
