Rennes and Nantes meet in the Brittany derby on Sunday with both sides looking to put pressure on the leading pack at the top of Ligue 1.
Rennes have lost just once this season, although they were fortunate not to suffer their first defeat on Thursday against Montpellier, and stand two points ahead of their opponents at the Route de Lorient.
Coach Philippe Montanier pulled no punches after the 0-0 draw with Montpellier and said: ``It was a soporific match. I do not know if both teams suffered from moisture, heat. There were no legs on both sides, which made for a match with little rhythm.
``t was a very solid match, average defensively, but fairly harmless. We could not have hoped for better than taking a point.''
Opponents Nantes have been inconsistent with three wins, three defeats and a draw so far this season although their results have been positive of late.
Coach Michel Der Zakarian is hoping a local derby can rouse his troops.
He told reporters: ``They have always been good games against them, but they are only good when you win.
``I hope we will win there, that's all.
``We have made good progress since the beginning of the season both in the game and in the results.
``Now we must do that every weekend. It is necessary in the top flight, we must perform each time.''
Of the match he added: ``It has been five or six years (since the teams played). I hope we will win there. The most important thing is to win the three points, to please our fans and repeat the form of our victory against Nice (last time out).''
