Toulouse v Stade Rennes: Preview

Rennes manager Philippe Montanier has challenged his side to raise their game for the Ligue 1 clash against Toulouse.

Les Rouges et Noirs have not won in their last four league games, which included a 2-2 draw against Valenciennes last time out where Rennes surrendered a two-goal lead.

Toulouse have won back-to-back fixtures against Nice and Reims and Montanier knows Rennes have to step up if they are to return to winning ways at the Stadium Municipal.

``The aim is to have a better level of play than last weekend,'' Montanier said.

``It was very disappointing. We should therefore at all costs raise our game and be more demanding of ourselves.

``In the dressing room the debriefing was slightly more acidic than usual (after Valenciennes) because individually and collectively, we have not been up to par.

``We should be aware of and adjust the behaviour of the team but we must not, however, fall into the drama.''

Rennes midfielder Vincent Pajot could miss the game due to groin pain.

Ahead of the fixture, Toulouse are eighth in the overall standings and four points off fourth place, which is occupied by Nantes.

Rennes, on the other hand, are in 10th with 13 points, two adrift of Toulouse.

Toulouse boss Alain Casanova has a fully-fit side for the match and is unlikely to make any changes from the side that beat Reims 2-1 last time out.

TFC are still unbeaten at home in the league this season with two wins and two draws so far in the campaign.
