St Etienne coach Christophe Galtier is determined to ensure his players have the right mentality heading into Wednesday's clash with Evian, warning them the rearranged Ligue 1 fixture is ``no bonus match''.
If in-form St Etienne can secure a fifth league victory in six matches when they face Evian at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard they will leap-frog above Bordeaux into fourth place.
And that is exactly what Galtier is hoping to get from the fixture, which had initially been scheduled for early December but was postponed due to a partially frozen pitch.
``It is not a bonus match. These are three points at stake in a home game, we must give our all to get them. We will need to be very determined and ready mentally,'' Galtier said on his club's website.
St Etienne were not in action at the weekend as their Coupe de France tie against Cannes was also postponed, meaning suspended duo Fabien Lemoine and Francois Clerc will instead miss this game. Centre-back Kurt Zouma, meanwhile, continues to serve a 10-match ban.
Les Verts hope to welcome back defender Loic Perrin, but Benjamin Corgnet is expected to miss out along with fellow midfielder Ismael Diomande and defender Paul Baysse.
Evian head into the match lying fifth from bottom in the standings and having lost their last two games, 3-1 to Nice in the league and than 1-0 to Bastia in the cup on Sunday.
However, a victory on Wednesday would see them move nine points clear of the relegation zone and give them a major boost in their fight to avoid the drop.
``It would be nice to get something out there to move further clear of our pursuers,'' said captain Olivier Sorlin, who also knows it will not be easy.
``The match will be complicated, St Etienne are in good form and by beating us they can move to fourth.
``We will need to be strong defensively,'' he told a press conference
Colombian forward Andres Escobar misses out again due to illness but midfielders Cedric Barbosa and Nicolas Benezet should be available to coach Pascal Dupraz.
Full-back Fabrice Ehret's participation is in question after he suffered an abdominal injury in the cup defeat to Bastia.
