Napoli hope Cavani can make history

Napoli head coach Walter Mazzarri is urging Edinson Cavani to write the last page in the history of the Rasunda Stadium as the curtain comes down on AIK Solna's venerable ground on Thursday night.

The Stockholm outfit are preparing to bid farewell to their 75-year old home in anticipation of a move to the newly-opened Friends Stadium, and Napoli have the honour of being the last guests before demolition.

Mazzarri's men will qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League with victory in the Solna district, provided PSV Eindhoven fail to beat Dnipro in Group F's other game, but AIK must avoid defeat to have anything to play for on matchday six.

Uruguayan striker Cavani rocketed to the top of the competition's scoring charts with four goals against Dnipro last time out, and Mazzarri wants more of the same in Sweden.

He told a press conference: ``We will tell Cavani that it's an opportunity for him to make history in the stadium, that should give him a bit more motivation.

``I don't worry about the maths but I do know they're a good team that's doing well. They've beaten PSV and we can't underestimate this task.''

Goran Pandev has not travelled due to injury but his replacement Eduardo Vargas will be all too familiar to AIK fans, the Chilean striker hitting a hat-trick as Napoli won the reverse fixture 4-0.

Hugo Campagnaro will replace the suspended Federico Fernandez in a three-man defence.

AIK midfielder Martin Mutumba will not take part in the Rasunda's swansong thanks to a knee injury.

Manager Andreas Alm said: ``Martin was injured in training two weeks ago. This is too soon for him.''

Alm remains optimistic that the 27-year-old will be fit to travel to Dnipro for matchday six, though, adding: ``Yes, I think he could be. Hopefully he can train fully for the next week and a half.''
