Berdyev not scared by Partizan

Rubin Kazan coach Kurban Berdyev believes his team have much to fear from opponents Partizan Belgrade, despite their dubious away record in European competition.

The teams meet in Europa League Group H with both eager to claim a win, although for different reasons.

Rubin are aiming to preserve their unbeaten home record in the group stage of a UEFA competition, while Partizan have the opposite problem having never won on their travels.

With all four teams in the group, which also includes Inter Milan and Neftchi, locked on a point after the opening round of fixtures, a victory for either side could allow them to gain a foothold in the table.

But Berdyev is certain Partizan will be no pushovers.

``We have watched Partizan on video and seen two live matches,'' he said.

``They are one of the most ambitious young teams in Europe. That will make it a tough match for us.

``Partizan are difficult to play at home or away. They can put pressure on opponents for 90 minutes and they will do the same. We will have to work very hard.''

Argentinian left-back Cristian Ansaldi has been passed fit for Rubin following injury.

Partizan midfielder Milos Jojic believes Rubin's 2-2 draw at Inter last time out proves what difficult opponents they will be.

``We are expecting a tough game,'' he said.

``Rubin are a very good team and that became obvious when they were unlucky to concede a goal to Inter in the final minute.

``Rubin will be favourites, but because of that we will be more relaxed and look for the chance to counter-attack.''

Partizan are without the injured Nemanja Tomic and the suspended Mohamed Kamara.
