Delibasic taking Mallorca seriously

Rayo Vallecano striker Andrija Delibasic has warned his side not to underestimate Saturday's opponents Real Mallorca despite the Balearic outfit's miserable recent form.

Mallorca have slumped down to 15th place in La Liga after earning just one point from their last seven games but Delibasic still believes the islanders, who did the double over Rayo last season, need to be treated with respect.

He told his club's website: ``Mallorca are a difficult team. We've already lost to them twice last year and they are an opponent that don't give you much space to play in. They are very solid in defence and very quick on the counter-attack.''

Rayo are four points and four places better off than Mallorca in the standings, despite suffering a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Real Sociedad on Monday, and overall Delibasic is quite happy with their start to the season.

``It is true to say we have conceded a lot of goals, but despite this we have picked up a decent number of points. I think that at this stage of the season the number of points we have isn't bad,'' he said.

Rayo's record of 29 goals conceded is the worst in the division and their leaky defence could be further tested this weekend as both Alejandro Galvez and Jose Casado are suspended. Rodri and Jordi Amat are the most likely candidates to come back into the side in place of them.

Mallorca managed to finally end their losing streak with last weekend's draw at Celta Vigo, but captain Jose Nunes has stressed the importance of getting back to winning ways against a potential relegation rival

He told the Mallorca website: ``Every week is key, but we know there are matches on the calendar that are very important and this is one due to everything that has happened lately.

``We know we are going to a difficult stadium, Rayo are always a team that goes for it from the off, but we know that if we play well, we will obtain the three points.''

Nunes himself could even return to the starting line-up after six weeks out with a knee injury, while Giovani dos Santos and Javi Marquez are also included in the squad after overcoming their own injury problems.
