Borussia Monchengladbach need to put their DFB-Pokal disappointment behind them quickly as they return to Bundesliga action against Freiburg tomorrow.
The Foals lost a local derby with Fortuna Dusseldorf after extra time, leaving them with just the Bundesliga and the Europa League to concentrate on for the rest of the season, and leaving their coach Lucien Favre particularly unhappy.
``I am deeply, deeply disappointed,'' said the Swiss coach. ``We did not deserve to lose.''
While the result was not to Favre's liking, his side's performance gave him reason for optimism for tomorrow's visit of Freiburg.
``I believe that we should have gone through,'' he said. ``I am very satisfied with the performance of my team.
``It was an exciting and good game and we played a particularly good first half.
``Now we have to recharge our batteries quickly because we are in action again tomorrow.''
Freiburg did manage to get through to the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal, on the other hand, with a 2-0 win over second division leaders Eintracht Braunschweig.
That victory got Christian Streich's side back to winning ways after a 2-0 defeat in the snow against Borussia Dortmund last weekend.
Streich rotated his team in midweek, getting the desired result, but leaving him with a selection conundrum for tomorrow.
Karim Guede and Erik Jendrisek are pushing for a place in the team, and the situation could get even more complicated in the coming weeks since Jan Rosenthal is now back in full training too.
Favre could recall Germany under-21 international Tony Jantschke to his starting XI after he missed out in midweek due to concussion.
