Troyes defender Rincon feels both he and his club are starting to get to grips with life in Ligue 1.
Following their promotion from Ligue 2 last season, ESTAC are still without a win after their first five top-flight games this term and head into tomorrow's away clash with Sochaux lying bottom of the table.
In their opening match at home against Valenciennes, Rincon - who left Italian football to join Troyes in the summer of 2011 - had the misfortune of marking his Ligue 1 debut with an own-goal that proved to be the winner for the visitors.
Last weekend, though, the Brazilian put in an impressive performance as his side held Lille to a 1-1 draw at home and reflecting on that match, Rincon told www.estac.fr: ``I think, like me, the team needed to find their footing in this league. Against Lille we all found that we could be competitive at this level.
``We did not play badly in the matches before that, but we have not been collecting the points we might have done.
``It is a matter of time and it should settle down soon, hopefully starting with our match at Sochaux.''
The point Troyes claimed against Lille took their tally for the season so far to two and Rincon says ESTAC must ``do everything'' to secure their first victory of the campaign in the contest with Sochaux, who are only one point and one place better off than them at the moment.
``They are direct opponents and our goal is to go out there and bring home the three points,'' Rincon said.
``We must do everything to achieve it.''
Rincon admits he has had a ``mixed'' start to the season but says his understanding of the division is improving.
``I would judge my start as mixed, but I think I'm progressing,'' he said.
``I am beginning to understand the way Ligue 1 works and I am trying to make fewer mistakes.
``I think I am doing better and better and I must say that playing alongside (central defensive partner) Jeremie Brechet has helped me a lot.''
The home side will be looking to build on last week's win at St Etienne, which gave them their first league points at the fifth attempt.
