Sochaux v Stade Rennes: Preview

Upwardly mobile Rennes are hoping to maintain their recent improvement with victory over Sochaux tomorrow.

Frederic Antonetti's men made a dismal start to the season, losing their first four games.

However, they are now unbeaten in their last three matches, with the most recent two seeing home wins over Nancy in the Coupe de Ligue and Lille in Ligue 1.

Right-back Romain Danze admitted the improvement in form has prompted a more relaxed atmosphere around the Red and Blacks camp.

Danze told his club's official website, www.staderennais.com: ``The results have helped to relax the mood and atmosphere. We are more cheerful in training, it's good for everybody.

``The season was tricky at the start and we were lagging behind everyone, so we watched a lot of video to see what was happening.

``The coach asked us what we thought and everyone said what they thought had to change. Choices were made and they are now paying off.

``There really has been an awareness since the draw in Toulouse that we have gained a greater solidarity.

``We're still not quite out of the woods but we want all three points against Sochaux.''

The Montbeliard side are also making progress after a similarly poor start.

After four successive defeats, Les Lionceaux won three matches in a row but saw the improvement end with defeat at title hopefuls Paris St Germain last time out.

Defender Sebastien Corchia and striker Cedric Bakambu, today named in France's squad for the forthcoming European Under-21 Championship play-off double-header against Norway, are both expected to figure in tomorrow's match at Stade Auguste Bonal.
