Lyon v Stade de Reims: Preview

Lyon coach Remi Garde insists his side have every chance of beating the big two of Paris St Germain and Marseille to the Ligue 1 title as he prepares for tomorrow's Stade de Gerland showdown with struggling Reims.

Garde's men go into the weekend sitting just a point behind the leading pair and knowing their situation could have been even better if they did not squander two points in a home draw with struggling Sochaux last week.

But while all eyes are on the two teams above them Garde has reiterated his side's minimum target of UEFA Champions League qualification - and believes they are capable of doing even better in the domestic league.

Garde said: ``Since the start of the season I have said I see no reason why should write off the title. Until it is mathematically over I want to be able to dream. If today we cannot dream of winning the title, then we are silly.''

Reims coach Hubert Fournier insists his side must put their recent dismal form out of their minds as they look to improve on their current 10th place by pulling off a surprise result.

After a bright start to the season Reims have picked up a solitary point from their last four games, but Fournier is full of confidence as he returns to a club where he spent two years as a player between 1998 and 2000.

Fournier said: ``We will go boldly with the desire to get something even if one paper we do not pretend to compete with Lyon. We have found it very hard in our last four games.''
