Deadline-day signing Julien Faubert has warned his new Bordeaux team-mates they cannot afford to take their eye off the ball in Ligue 1 ahead of a busy February fixture list that will have them competing on three fronts.
Les Girondins will be returning to action in both the Coupe de France and the Europa League in the coming weeks, but they are hanging on to fourth place in Ligue 1 - the final European spot - by their fingertips with five clubs below within three points of them.
That means the pressure is firmly on as they prepare to head to Corsica to face an Ajaccio side who upset title contenders Lyon last week.
``We will be playing in very good competitions,'' Faubert, a deadline-day signing following his release by Elazigspor, told the club's website.
``The Europa League is still a European cup. The Coupe de France is a very important trophy. We must try to do our best in these competitions, but not let it affect our league form.
``We must remain consistent in the league first and foremost. The rest is a bonus.''
Ajaccio were 3-1 winners over Lyon last week to pull away from the drop zone, and Faubert knows facing them on their home turf could be a formidable challenge.
``It will not be easy to play there,'' he said. ``We know how it is with the Corsican clubs. We must start well and not take it lightly.
``Against Lyon there were some refereeing errors but I don't think that was the key to the game. They have much quality.''
Ajaccio's surprise victory sent them five points clear of the drop zone, allowing them a glance up the table rather than staring over their shoulders all the time.
However, Ajaccio midfielder Paul Lasne believes his former club - who have lost only three league matches all season - will be even more dangerous than Lyon as they play free from the spotlight placed on the top clubs.
``We need to be wary of a team who are playing a big role in the championship,'' he said. ``All eyes are on PSG and Lyon, and this allows them to play in the shadows and concentrate on trying to earn a place in the Champions League.
``This game will be twice as hard as against Lyon. We must forget about beating Lyon or we will be lost in the euphoria.''
