Stade Rennes v AS Nancy Lorraine: Preview

Rennes coach Frederic Antonetti has refuted claims his side have given up hope of finishing the Ligue 1 season strongly as they look to end their winless run at home to bottom side Nancy tomorrow.

Antonetti's side face St-Etienne next month in the Coupe de la Ligue final, but are currently on a run of five league games without a win, form which has seen them slip to 10th in the table.

A defeat at struggling Reims before the international break was a huge blow to their European hopes, but Antonetti claimed his side have been unlucky.

``Those who have watched our games could see that the team have not given up on their ambitions in the league,'' he said.

``We have not been successful, but we can not say we did not play in our last game. We will try to fix the small details, There will be two or three changes [for the Nancy fixture].

``This match will not be easy. They have fast players and play well against anyone they face.''

Nancy defender Yassine Jebbour will return to his former club for the first time since leaving Rennes in the January.

The 22-year-old has yet to nail-down a starting place at Nancy, but believes he knows just what to expect as Patrick Gabriel's side look to move themselves off the foot of the table.

``I know this team by heart,'' Jebbour said.

``I know how they play and what the coach will ask of them. They rely on a very good goalkeeper, a solid defence with some talented players in the middle like [Vincent] Pajot and [Julien] Feret.

``They will try to play and so will we so it should provide an open game where we will go blow-for-blow with Rennes.''
