We're in the last minute of the half and after a tame first half hour, England stepped up their game in the last 15 minutes and Scholes came so close to opening the scoring.

Beckham takes, Heskey rises to win the header... but he heads over the bar

... but they can't stop that Scholes effort. He shoots from 30 yards, the diving Enyeama just gets a touch and Scholes is denied by the post.

Udeze lays it back to Okocha... he fires a shot from 25 yards with real power but little direction. As with so many of his efforts in this World Cup, it's not even close

First Butt and then Heskey try to loft the ball over the Nigerian defence for Owen. Okoronkwo shepherds it out for the goal kick

Mills crosses. Sinclair and Owen attack it and Owen wins the header - but he can't get over the ball or direct his effort on target

Corner, and Seaman himself ends the danger by claiming well. There's a chance of a counter attack but Owen can't find Beckham

Akwegbu breaks through the inside right channel, plays a one-two with Okocha and shoots from an acute angle - Seaman saves well

... but it's not. The referee missed that. Excellent block from Okoronkwo - Owen was shooting across the keeper, aiming for the far corner

... and Owen picks it up 40 yards out. Yobo slides and Owen passes him and runs at Okoronkow. He goes for the shot - and the defender does well to get a foot in. Corner

Akwegby stands up a cross to the far post. Seaman was floundering there and Mills did well to head it behing.

Very quiet game so far and as things stand, Sweden will win the group.

Just about - but it never threatened to go in even if Enyeama did spill it.

Okoronkwo brings down Owen 40 yards out. Beckham territory?

He shoots and goes for the near corner. It should be comfortable for Seaman... but it's not. He spills it and Campbell did well to reach the ball before teh on-rushing Agahowa

And Nigeria earn another free kick in a much more dangerous position. Butt was penalised even though Udeze tripped over the ball. Poor decision by the American ref, but a chance for Okocha...

England are content to let Nigeria pass it around in their half. Sodje ends that by charging down the byline and is upended by Ashley Cole
