Europa League draw: When does the draw for the next round take place?

The draw for the first knockout round of the 2016-17 Europa League will be made at midday GMT / 7 a.m. ET on Monday, Dec. 12.

The 24 teams that finished first and second in the Europa League group stage, along with the eight teams that finished third in the Champions League group stage, will be drawn into 16 ties.

Group winners and the four third-placed Champions League teams who scored the most points will be seeded.
Group runners-up and the four third-placed Champions League teams who scored the fewest points will be unseeded.
Seeded teams will play at home in the second leg.

Seeded: Ajax Amsterdam, APOEL, AS Roma, Besiktas, FC Copenhagen, Fenerbahce, Fiorentina, Genk, Lyon, Osmanlispor, Schalke, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sparta Prague, St Etienne, Tottenham, Zenit St Petersburg 

Unseeded: Anderlecht, AZ Alkmaar, Astra Giurgiu, Athletic Bilbao, Borussia Monchengladbach, Celta Vigo, Gent, Hapoel Be'er, Krasnodar, Legia Warsaw, Ludogorets, Manchester United, Olympiakos, PAOK Salonika, Rostov, Villarreal

The first legs will take place on Feb. 16 and the second legs on Feb. 23.

Teams from the same country cannot draw each other.
Teams from Ukraine and Russia cannot draw each other for political reasons.

The draw for the round of 16 will then be made on Friday, Feb. 24.
