Tottenham to use all of Wembley for Champions League matches

Tottenham will be able to use Wembley's Stadium entire 90,000-capacity for all of next season's Champions League games, the club has announced.

Spurs have agreed a deal with the Football Association to stage their European fixtures at the national stadium while building work begins on White Hart Lane as part of the construction of Spurs' new stadium, adjacent to their current home.

Work to remove 4,000 seats from the North East corner, the Paxton Road end, of Spurs' 36,000-capacity home is already underway and will leave the stadium in breach of UEFA regulations, prompting the decision to play at Wembley.

The club will then play all its home matches at Wembley in the 2017-18 season, the majority with a reduced capacity, and hope to move into their new 61,000-seater home for the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

A statement on the club website read: "We are delighted to confirm that we shall be opening the full stadium capacity for all of our Champions League fixtures next season.

"We shall be launching a Group Stage Multi-Game Ticket that will be on sale shortly.

"Not only will this ticket ensure your place at all three Group Stage matches, it will also secure you the same seat for these and for any subsequent matches in the campaign that you buy tickets for."

The club have also confirmed that the three-game group stage packages will be available between £70 and £150.

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust (THST) praised the club's decision.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has previously told the THST that the club does not stand to benefit financially by playing their Champions League matches at Wembley.
