Victor Wanyama to move on from failed Southampton to Tottenham deal

Victor Wanyama wants to put this summer's failed transfer from Southampton to Tottenham Hotspur behind him.

Wanyama, 24, sought a move to Southampton's Premier League rivals Tottenham but his current club refused to sanction the exit.

The Kenya international was left out of Aug. 30's 3-0 win over Norwich but has since return to the team and made seven Premier League appearances.

"I just don't want to remember that situation," Wanyama told the Southern Daily Echo.

"Yes, sure, now I've forgotten what happened. I'm now progressing on my club and it's been good, so I'm looking forward to putting in good performances."

Prior to the current international break, Southampton claimed a memorable 3-1 win at champions Chelsea, much to the delight of Wanyama.

He added: "We expected a very very tough game and we showed what we can do. I think this is one of the best away wins.

"They're a really, really difficult team to beat, especially at Stamford Bridge, so we were very glad to have the maximum points."
