Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul makes Brighton loan move permanent

Brighton have announced that their loan of Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has been turned into a permanent one-year deal.

Krul joined Brighton on a season-long loan last month, but the conversion of the move to a full-time switch means he ends a 12-year stay at Newcastle.

The deal means Krul ends a 12-year stay at Newcastle, having joined them from Den Haag. He is eligible to face his former club when they travel to Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Krul made his Brighton debut in Tuesday's League Cup defeat at Bournemouth, and told reporters after the game that he was "really enjoying the new, fresh challenge."
