Manchester United's Matty Willock loaned to Utrecht for season

Manchester United midfielder Matty Willock has joined Dutch club FC Utrecht on loan.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Willock signed a new two-year contract before agreeing the loan deal.

The 21-year-old will move to the Eredivisie for the rest of the season, a move that was confirmed by United in an official statement.

Willock has not made his United debut yet but has trained with the senior squad and was included on the substitutes' bench for Premier League games against West Brom and Crystal Palace last season.

Willock moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in 2012 and has impressed at under-18 and U21 level for United.

Utrecht finished fourth in the Eredivisie last season but failed to qualify for the Europa League, losing a playoff to Zenit St Petersburg.

This season Erik ten Hag's side have started with two wins from their opening three fixtures.
