Tottenham continue talks with Ajax over Davinson Sanchez - sources

Tottenham remain locked in talks with Ajax over Davinson Sanchez, sources have told ESPN FC, but the defender has been named in the Dutch club's squad for Thursday's Europa League playoff against Rosenborg.

Tottenham would like to sign Sanchez, 21, and reports in the Netherlands claim they have already agreed personal terms with the Colombia international.

But they are still yet to agree a fee with Ajax, and the same reports claim the Eredivisie club are holding out for €50 million for their Player of the Year from last season after rejecting a €40m offer.

There have also been claims that Sanchez is refusing to play for Ajax but he trained as usual on Wednesday and has been included in the 19-man squad for the Europa League playoff first leg at the Amsterdam Arena.

Ajax boss Marcel Keizer has admitted there is a chance that Sanchez may not feature, however, telling the Dutch media: "Davinson has trained, he's fit and so he can play. Whether he does that or not, I'm not going to say. He missed the last few days and was obviously not involved against Heracles. I do what's best for Ajax and for the team."

"I don't blame Sanchez for anything. It's difficult for him too. We hope he stays."

Davinson could become Tottenham's first signing of the summer with Mauricio Pochettino's side still yet to bring in any new players -- the only club in England's top four divisions yet to do so.
