Carlos Vela will 'give my all' for Real Sociedad ahead of LAFC move

Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela has pledged to give his all over the coming months before leaving for MLS franchise Los Angeles FC.

LAFC announced that the Mexico international will join their club on Jan. 1, 2018 and the player confirmed the news on Twitter, while showing a photo of himself wearing the LA FC colours.

Vela joined Sociedad from Arsenal in the summer of 2011 and has gone on to make 171 appearances.

He posted a video of his time at La Real  followed by an emotional letter to the Spanish club that said: "I've spent six unforgettable years in the best city in the world.

"I've had the fortune of having several clubs interested in me this summer, all big clubs. Due to my love and respect for this jersey, I promise to give my all when playing the next six months, to help the team in every way possible on and off the pitch.

"This is a simple and humble thank you to all of you because I'm still here wearing the No. 11 jersey until the last game of 2017."

The 28-year-old received a warm welcome as he arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday for his forthcoming unveiling.

LAFC manager Bob Bradley has said he intends to build his team around Mexico international striker Carlos Vela.

Vela scored nine goals in 35 league appearances, 31 of which were starts, to help La Real finish sixth in La Liga last season.

La Real open their La Liga season away to Celta Vigo on Aug. 19.
