Premier Soccer League side SuperSport United have announced the departure of three players on Friday.

Midfielder Michael Morton, who won his third international cap for South Africa at the weekend, has made a permanent switch to AmaZulu, where he will be joined on loan by goalkeeper Boalefa Pule.

The third player to depart is left-back Luvolwethu Mpeta, who returns to Platinum Stars, where he played earlier in his career and spent last season on loan.

Morton has battled for game-time in recent seasons, sitting behind Dean Furman and Reneilwe Letsholonyane in the central midfield pecking order.

He had emerged on the scene at Orlando Pirates in the 2008/09 season, but made his name at Bidvest Wits where had had two fine campaigns in loan.

He was allowed to join Maritzburg United on a permanent basis in 2011, and was a regular there for three seasons before SuperSport pounced in 2014.

Pule has more national team caps, four, than he does appearances in the PSL, having made just a single outing when he came on as a substitute in the 2016 Nedbank Cup final.

He has been used more liberally in the CAF Confederation Cup this season, but was seen as well below the club's two first-choice keepers, Ronwen Williams and Reyaad Pieterse.

Mpeta started his top-flight career at Platinum Stars, helping the team to a surprise second place in the league in the 2012/13 season. After three seasons he joined SuperSport January 2015, but failed to nail down a regular spot.

He returned to stars on loan last season and has now made that move permanent.
