Man City want deal for Real Madrid's Danilo done by Wednesday - sources

Manchester City hope to complete a deal for Real Madrid defender Danilo before the two clubs face each other in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday, sources have told ESPN FC.

And City remain in talks with Monaco over the signing of Benjamin Mendy and hope to finally reach an agreement after reportedly having a £44.5 million bid turned down.

Pep Guardiola's side arrived in California today, which is also where Brazilian defender Danilo is training ahead of City's game against Real in Los Angeles.

The City boss has admitted that the 26-year-old is one of "three or four" players that the club are looking at and sources say that a £26.5m deal could be completed as quickly as this weekend.

Guardiola wants to bring in new players as soon as possible after conceding that Aleksandar Kolarov will leave for Roma. However, no deal has yet been agreed with the Italian club over his departure.

The Serb defender was one of a number of first-team players not to feature in City's first game of the summer -- a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in Houston on Thursday.

Striker Wilfried Bony has remained behind in Manchester and sources say Swansea City are considering re-signing the Ivorian striker.

Meanwhile, Stoke City have opened talks with City over a possible move for midfielder Fabian Delph.
