Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic not in Chelsea tour plans - sources

Chelsea have no plans to include Diego Costa or Nemanja Matic in Antonio Conte's squad for the club's preseason matches in China and Singapore, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

Costa remains in Brazil after being excused from the start of Chelsea's preseason training at Cobham as he attempts to secure a return to Atletico Madrid, while Matic has been training on his own amid speculation around his own future.

Both men are set to miss Chelsea's flight to the Far East on Monday in anticipation of a move away from Stamford Bridge, and Kurt Zouma will also be absent as he finalises a season-long loan move to Stoke City.

Sources last month said that Manchester United were willing to pay up to £40 million for Matic, but relations between the clubs have been soured by the Romelu Lukaku affair and Juventus have also reportedly expressed an interest in the Serbia international, who has two years left to run on his current contract.

Costa, meanwhile, has made it clear that he will only leave Chelsea for Atletico, and while the clubs remain far apart in their valuations of the 28-year-old, an agreement is expected before the end of the transfer window.
