Portugal's Adrien Silva open to move amid Tottenham Hotpur links

Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Silva has told Portuguese daily A Bola he is not certain to remain at Sporting Lisbon and is open to a move to the Premier League.

Silva, 28, who plays in central midfield, has been linked with a move to Spurs and reports in Portugal claim the Londoners have had an opening bid of £17 million rejected with Sporting holding out for £30m.

Silva, who has been with Sporting for his whole career and won Euro 2016 with Portugal, said he had not had contact with other clubs and added that he was attracted by English football.

"I was not in touch with anyone during the Confederations Cup. I preferred to focus completely on this event and finish it in the best way," Silva, who scored in the 2-1 playoff win against Mexico, said.

Asked about reports linking him with Spurs, he said: "The best players are there [in the Premier League], and the English championship is recognised by all as one of the best.

"Let's just let things run. I have a contract with Sporting, but nothing is certain."

Spurs have signed only three players over the age of 25 under manager Mauricio Pochettino -- Federico Fazio, Toby Alderweireld and Moussa Sissoko.
