Genoa want €60m for teenagers Pietro Pellegri and Salcedo Mora

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has said he wants €60 million for Pietro Pellegri and Salcedo Mora, with Inter Milan closing in on the teenagers.

Inter have made an offer for 16-year-old Italy under-17 international Pellegri, who scored his first Serie A goal on the final day of last season, and 15-year-old Salcedo, who has yet to feature in the first team.

Preziosi said he believed his valuation reflected market value and claimed a deal was close to being struck.

"If you think the price is too high, then I could reply by saying what others are worth," he told ANSA.

"People are paying hundreds of millions for players and everybody puts a value on negotiations which they feel is suitable.

"€60m? There is always a lot of talk in football and we'll just have to see what actually happens, but recently Vinicius, who is 16, signed for Real Madrid for €45m -- so what are we complaining about?"

Preziosi, who recently put the club up for sale, said he felt the chances of a deal were "more yes than no" as Inter look to complete their first summer signings.

Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, is also tipped to leave Genoa, with Fiorentina interested.

But Preziosi said: "He can only leave if we find a suitable replacement."
