RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg 'wants to make next step in his career' - agent

Emil Forsberg's agent has reiterated his client has no desire to stay at RB Leipzig and instead "wants to make the next step in his career."

Forsberg, 25, was one of the star players in the Bundesliga last season setting up 22 goals and scoring a further eight as Leipzig finished second, only behind runaway champions Bayern Munich.

However, despite the guarantee of playing Champions League football next season and a valid contract through to 2022, the Sweden international has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.

Earlier this week, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff ruled out selling Forsberg and reminded his agent Hasan Cetinkaya of his client's contract length and offering him to send him a copy "if he's forgotten how long Emil is under contract here."

But speaking to Bild, Cetinkaya has made it clear that he's ready for a war of words.

"I've never experienced an arrogant attitude like this," he said. "I know how long Emil is under contract at Leipzig. And I also know what he owes to the club. But it's a fact: Emil wants to make the next step in his career."

Following his involvement with the Sweden national team earlier this month, Forsberg is expected to return to Leipzig to enter preseason on July 11.
