Sevilla 'may benefit from' selling Steven N'Zonzi to Juventus - president

Sevilla president Jose Castro says he has not "closed the door" on selling midfielder Steven N'Zonzi to Juventus this summer.

N'Zonzi, 28, is a reported target of the Serie A giants after a strong season that saw him make 34 league starts to help the Sevilla finish fourth in La Liga.

Juventus are reportedly prepared to pay his release clause and the Frenchman would welcome the move.

"I haven't closed the door to Juventus because perhaps it's something that interests us and we may even benefit from it [his transfer]," Castro told El Confidencial newspaper regarding Juve's interest in N'Zonzi. "We haven't spoken to N'Zonzi about his release clause."

N'Zonzi signed a one-year extension to his contract in January that will keep him at the Sanchez Pizjuan until June 2020. The new deal saw the Frenchman's release clause increase from €30 million to a new figure which has not been revealed in order to fend off potential suitors.

According to AS, Sevilla turned down an offer of €30m from Leicester for N'Zonzi last summer and Marca recently reported that Sevilla will not sell him for less than €40m.

Castro, meanwhile, confirmed that negotiations to bring Manchester City winger Nolito to the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium this summer are at an advanced stage.

Nolito wants a move away from the Etihad Stadium to enhance his chances of competing for Spain at the 2018 World Cup after playing sparingly for City following his €18m transfer from Celta Vigo last summer.

"It [deal] is very close," he said when asked about Nolito's transfer. "We have very advanced negotiations with him and his club."

Under contract with City until June 2020, Nolito was one of the top players in Spain's La Liga, scoring 12 goals and setting up seven more in 27 league starts for Celta in the 2015-16 campaign.

However, he made only nine league starts for City and 10 appearances as a substitute in the 2016-17 campaign and has lost his place in Spain's squad.
