No David De Gea deal or Alvaro Morata bid - Real Madrid's Florentino Perez

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez played down the possibility of a move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and said no bids have been received for Alvaro Morata or James Rodriguez.

Madrid have been at the centre of transfer speculation, with uncertainty surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and several players linked with moves to the Bernabeu.

Perez, who will remain at the helm until June 2021 after no candidate stepped forward to run against him in the recent presidential elections, denied that the club were keen to acquire a goalkeeper.

He told Onda Cero radio they could have exercised an option to acquire De Gea last summer, just 12 months after the Spain international's move to the Bernabeu fell through at the last minute.

De Gea has continued to be linked with Real but Perez said: "For the time being, we haven't spoken to De Gea.

"The last time I spoke to him was when that [failed transfer] happened. Two years ago we had that fax misfortune. It [the contract] arrived two minutes late.

"Last year we had a possibility that we didn't take, and now we have no agreement with Manchester United to sign him.

"The truth is that we have great goalkeepers. I love Keylor Navas and the truth is that, back in 2015, I didn't know him as I do now."

Real are also reported to be monitoring AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has turned down a contract extension.

Perez told Marca: "All the best players in the world have come to Real Madrid. We monitor young players all over the world.

"The AC Milan keeper is a very good player, just as [Kylian] Mbappe, Vinicius [Junior] and other youngsters are.

"If they are good, Real will show an interest at the appropriate time. When [coach Zinedine] Zidane comes back, we will see what he thinks of Donnarumma's case."

Perez said Real "have not received any offers for Cristiano, Morata or James as some media have stated," adding: "Our priority is to keep our current core of players, and that is why we are not going to make any movements."

Ronaldo is reportedly considering a return to Manchester United, also reported to be a potential destination for both Rodriguez and Morata.

But Perez said: "We have not received any offers and what we think is that Ronaldo is a Real Madrid player and will continue to be just as the rest.

"In recent days, no one has made an offer for any of our players and we haven't made any offers."
